The ascent dlss greyed out Patch#
The developers of The Ascent are plainly looking into the event, and a patch volition be issued onetime in the future that will bring the Xbox Game Pass on PC version of the game upwards to par with the Steam version. Since The Rise is installed equally a Universal Windows Platform app and not a typical program, it can't be modified every bit readily. Unfortunately, players can't just copy over the relevant files from the Steam version. The options for DLSS are missing altogether, and turning on ray tracing doesn't actually seem to take any result on the game.
The Game Laissez passer version of The Ascension on PC lacks the DLSS and (almost) ray tracing features bachelor on the Steam version. I that doesn't have a ready at this time (and it's not the but bug players are facing). Now that information technology'southward in DX12 fashion, ray tracing shadows, ray tracing reflections, and ray tracing ambient occlusion can all be enabled.Īll the same, there's another take hold of here for Xbox Game Laissez passer for PC players. Once players relaunch The Ascent, they tin can return to the graphics options. Change the selection under "DirectX" from "DX11" to "DX12.".Nonetheless, the APIs needed for ray tracing are sectional to DirectX 12. The game launches in DirectX 11 past default. There's a straightforward fix to enable the 3 ray tracing options in The Rise. How practice I enable the greyed out ray tracing options in The Ascent Neon Giant and NVIDIA announced that the upcoming cyberpunk-ish isometric action-shooter RPG, The Ascent, will support both Ray Tracing and DLSS on PC. This is a relatively like shooting fish in a barrel fix, simply it's i that could be overlooked due to the lack of direction or aid text given in The Ascent's menus.

Unfortunately, there'due south no message in the game that explains how to enable ray tracing. What’s odd about DLSS Ultra Quality in The Ascent is that it actually puts less load. I hope they fix it.Those playing The Rise on PC might find that the option to enable ray tracing is greyed out. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say microsoft won't be supporting dlss for exclusive games on pc becauase they went with the amd solution on consoles. This is easily observable by switching between existing DLSS settings or native resolutions, like 1080 vs 4K. Game Pass version is unplayable at this point with the stutters and framerate disaster. It's really too bad, because before this patch the game was almost liquid smooth, everywhere, but there were just some micro hitches that would happen in new areas that would disappear after a few seconds. Enabling "CPU Performance Mode" helps with the stuttering a little, but I have a 10900K! Even if I resort to DX11 mode the game is now a stuttery mess.
The ascent dlss greyed out update#
Update 2: Well, with 471.68 installed, at least the DLSS option isn't grayed out anymore, but it's still basically the same situation.

I'm going to bite the bullet and install clean 471.68 (currently running 466.11) after a DDU cleanse and see if things improve. Nothing else has changed except for the patch. Weird that before this patch those worked perfectly on my 3090. I can leave the game in DX12 mode but with any of the RT shadows, reflections and AO options enabled, instant framerate demolisher. so for some reason for me my DLSS option is greyed out and no matter what i do to my graphics options it stays greyed out my specs are down below and wondering if anyone else is facing the same issue GEFORCE RTX 3080TI I9-11900 16GB DDR4 1TB M. Update: It's definitely any of the ray-tracing options causing the problem.
I posted this here because presumably Guru3D members are more knowledgeable and helpful to one another. If you look, there are lots of people complaining about this same exact thing, such as in The Ascent's Steam forum even though the Steam version and the Game Pass version are patched and treated separately. I ran that to double-check after being completely surprised by The Ascent's performance after its patch because it's so horribly slow now (I thought maybe my GPU was dying or something). My system's running perfectly, having just posted a nearly 20,000 score in 3D Mark TimeSpy.
